Built Through Proficiency
Proficiency Training was built on a lifelong connection to basketball, movement, and community.
The foundation comes from my family’s legacy in the game through the Whodini name—known locally and nationally in the Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball circuit for years of competitive success. Growing up around that environment shaped my love for basketball, discipline, and continuous improvement. Over time, my generation earned that legacy through persistence, growth, and winning at a high level.
Proficiency means skilled, and that word defines how I approach training.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science from West Virginia State University (HBCU) and have been training athletes and clients since 2015. I am:
NCSF Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)
NCSF Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES)
Certified Basketball Skill Enhancement Trainer through I’m Possible Training with Micah Lancaster
What sets Proficiency Training apart is the ability to combine performance training, corrective exercise, and basketball skill development into one safe, intentional system.
I work with:
Athletes looking to improve movement, confidence, and basketball performance
Individuals seeking strength, mobility, and a healthier lifestyle
Youth athletes who need proper fundamentals and injury-aware training
Every program is designed to help clients move better, train smarter, and build confidence—not just work harder.
My mission is to bring high-level, professional training to the local community in a safe, positive, and supportive environment where athletes and clients can grow physically and mentally.
Giving back is also a core value of Proficiency Training. I regularly support youth initiatives, community events, and local programs throughout Illinois, with the goal of creating opportunities and positive impact beyond the gym.
Precision Training. Proficient Results.
